Triac optocouplers are the standard method of interfacing a 110 vac or
220 vac power load to a microcomputer or pc. A low level 5 ma signal
trips a small internal optocoupler which in turn controls a larger external
power triac for high level control.
Offered here are lots of 35 Fairchild MOC3163 triac optocouplers in a
six pin standard mini-dip package
intended for SMT gull wing mounting.
This style of optocoupler has internal zero crossing circuitry intended to
minimize transients and line noise.
Zero crossing optocouplers are not
suitable for dimmers or ac phase controls
. They are off-on only.
Received by us from an aerospace auction in apparently clean and unused
condition. Not tested by us.. Guaranteed usable and as described.
